Private One-on-One Piano Lessons 🎹
Get ready to embark on a musical journey with private piano lessons, offered both in-studio and online! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, we are here to support your growth and help you reach your full potential.
What’s Included in the Monthly Flat Fee:
- 4 weekly 30-minute lessons each month
- Bonus! One-hour Fun Learning Theory Class (See details below)
- All of this is available for just a discounted rate of $115 per month.
- Lesson Rate Breakdown: Each 30-minute lesson is just $29 (rounded price). This is the breakdown of the monthly installment fee that students pay.
- Total Lessons: You’ll receive 48 lessons each calendar year.

- Registration Fee: A one-time fee of $20 is due with your first month’s tuition.

- Please note: Since the monthly fee is already discounted, we do not offer a sibling discount.
Payment Due Date & Late Fee Policy
- Payments are due on the 1st of each month.
- You have 3 days to pay.
- Starting on the 4th, a $40 late fee will be applied to any unpaid balances.

Fun Learning Zoom Music Class
This one-hour Zoom class is offered when enough students are enrolled.
To keep our studio fees affordable for everyone, this Fun Learning Music Class will replace free make-up lessons. Alternatively, the teacher can schedule virtual lessons during the student’s regular time slot.
If you’re unable to attend a lesson and wish to schedule a make-up, please note that make-up lessons are subject to a fee. This is because we need to find an alternative time slot, which incurs additional costs.
Free make-up lessons are only available to students paying the regular price, based on the surrounding studio fees.

Monthly Flat Fee:
Private One-on-One Lessons: $100 per month.

We offer several payment methods for your convenience:
Cash, Phone Apps: Apple Pay, Zelle.
The studio does not accept Cash app or Venmo app and personal check.
Note:
Credit card information will be securely stored on file for backup payment methods.
For new students:
Due to occasional Wi-Fi and cell reception issues at the studio, and our busy schedule on teaching days, we can only accept cash for the first month’s payment. You will receive a cash payment receipt when you pay with cash. After the first month, you have the option to continue with cash payments or switch to payment via phone apps. Please inform the teacher of your preferred method, and if you choose apps, the teacher will provide you with a QR code to set up app payments.
The first-month fee is always pro-rated. If you start lessons in the middle of the month, you’ll be charged for the remaining lessons. New students will pay the remaining lessons plus the registration fee in their first month, and from the second month onwards, the full monthly fee.
We will securely collect your credit card information. This credit card will only be charged when you haven’t paid in full by the 1st of each month. Rest assured, we will inform you and your parents before making any transaction. Your convenience and understanding are our top priorities.
How to Choose a Piano Teacher
1. Qualifications:
Seek a teacher with formal training or a degree in music. Proper credentials often indicate a deeper understanding of music theory, technique, and pedagogy. Be cautious with YouTube or social media tutorials, as many contain inaccuracies and lack the structured approach of traditional music education.
2. Compassion:
Patience and empathy are essential qualities in a piano teacher. A great teacher genuinely cares about their students’ progress and adapts their approach to meet individual learning needs.
3. Demonstrated Skill:
A competent piano teacher should showcase their own proficiency. Look for performance videos or demonstrations on their website or during your first meeting. A lack of evidence of their playing ability can be a red flag.
4. Understanding Music Fundamentals:
While playing by ear is an impressive talent, it doesn’t always translate to an understanding of sheet music, chord theory, or advanced teaching techniques. Ensure your teacher has a well-rounded skill set to cover all aspects of piano education.
5. Performance Opportunities:
A quality teacher will offer students opportunities to perform in recitals, competitions, or other events. These experiences build confidence and foster growth as a musician.
6. Extra Support:
Teachers who go above and beyond—offering extra lessons, access to resources like a music game library, or customized arrangements—can greatly enhance the learning experience.

Piano Journal
At every recital, you can witness your child’s musical progress as they perform live.
We offer custom-designed recital invitations that feature your student’s pictures, adding a personal touch to the event.
Additionally, at the end of the year, we provide a piano journal filled with your student’s piano learning photos. (This is optional and available to students who participate in recitals and other events.)

Christmas Video Greeting Card
Rather than sending traditional family pictures, Joyful Sound Piano Studio offers a special Christmas treat—a lovely video of your child playing festive music with warm greetings. These heartwarming videos can be easily shared with your friends and family.
In November, our students learn delightful Christmas songs, and Ms. Joy records their performances. She then skillfully edits these videos and sends them to all parents. You can share these wonderful Christmas Song Greeting Videos with relatives all around the world. This service is our gift to everyone who cherishes the Christmas season.
